"Unknown OSAKA Experiences" are experiences you can try for the first time in places you've never been before. This time, we'll be introducing how to enjoy Osaka's nightlife. We took British-born Ben out to Shinsaibashi, Osaka's most famous entertainment district, to show him some recommended night spots that are fun after 10pm.

The Shinsaibashi area, with its many attractions in each area, including Shinsaibashisuji, lined with high-end brands and department stores, and Americamura, a hotbed of youth fashion, is one of the most popular destinations for tourists visiting Osaka.

This time, we'll be introducing the nightlife in the Shinsaibashi area, which starts at 10pm and will satisfy your intellectual curiosity. With nightclubs, bars, a popular sauna facility, and authentic sushi that you can enjoy until the morning, Shinsaibashi's nightlife is completely different from its daytime atmosphere, and you can enjoy it to your heart's content without worrying about the time until the morning.

Enjoy shisha at a global bar where travelers gather

Higashi-Shinsaibashi is one of Osaka's most popular entertainment districts, and is lined with many leisure buildings. Many bars, snack bars, lounges, and other establishments are open until late at night, so it's a great place to stop by and enjoy a drink before heading out to a nightclub.

This time we visited "cafe & bar Tabibito no Ie" in the "New Grand Building" in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. We chose a whiskey from the drinks from around the world lined up on the counter and toasted with the owner, Churin!

As the name "Traveler's House" suggests, this bar is famous for attracting travel enthusiasts. The owner has traveled to 75 countries around the world, and often shares travel stories with guests from overseas. Many of the customers on this day were also travel enthusiasts, and Ben and he had a great time talking about the UK.

The owner is also famous as a shisha player. BEN also became interested in shisha, and tried it for the first time in his life. After taking a puff, an unprecedented flavor spread in his mouth and he became hooked.

One of the charms of small bars is that it's easy to strike up conversations with fellow customers. BEN also received many recommendations for recommended spots in Osaka from the customers around him.

Drinking in such a deep building is a cool experience. I'd love to visit some of the Osaka spots recommended by customers! The owner is a great talker, so I had a relaxed and enjoyable time, which made me forget it was my first time there.

In addition to these, we would like to introduce two other special bars in Shinsaibashi that you cannot miss.

Enjoy high-quality music at a luxurious nightclub!

The biggest attraction of the Shinsaibashi area is the density of various types of nightclubs. After enjoying some drinks at the bar, we headed to CLUB Ammona, a luxurious nightclub located in the heart of Higashi-Shinsaibashi.

A DJ is playing on the stage. The floor is lit up with purple lights, creating an extraordinary atmosphere, and the music gets your heart dancing.

Order your drinks at the bar counter. We have a wide selection of shot drinks and cocktails to liven up your event.

BEN was in high spirits as his favorite dance music was playing. By the way, admission to "CLUB Ammona" is completely free with the Osaka e-pass PREMIUM, The Perfect Pass in Osaka.

After having fun, refresh yourself in the sauna!

After thoroughly enjoying the nightclub, we headed to Osaka Sauna DESSE, an urban sauna facility located in Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Arcade, a three-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, to soothe our fatigue.

It is open almost 24 hours a day and has eight different types of saunas with different themes, such as river, garden, tea house, etc. You can enter the bath empty-handed, and on this day we rented sauna hats and towels.

The open-air "river sauna" faces the river that runs through the bathroom. The sauna is connected directly to the cold water bath, allowing you to jump right in. (Photo provided by DESSE)
Mori Sauna has steam and auto-louver facilities, allowing you to enjoy a sauna in the silence of a forest.
The "Water Surface Sauna" allows you to lie down on the bench-like floor and enjoy the sparkling water surface illuminated by the ceiling.
This time, we visited the private sauna "Musubi Sauna" (reservations required).

You can also enjoy a self-loyly using sauna stones. The luxurious sauna time you can only get in a private room will relax your mind and body.

After cooling down your heated body in the cold bath, you can take a rest in the zero gravity chair. It's so comfortable that you might even fall asleep, and you'll feel completely at ease.

I can enjoy a sauna with a Japanese garden-like atmosphere in the heart of the downtown area! My fatigue has been relieved and my body feels lighter. I think I'll be able to sleep soundly tonight!

Open until 5am! The last stop on the night tour is Sakae Sushi, where you can enjoy authentic sushi made right in front of you by a chef.

To conclude the night tour, we visited Sakae Sushi Mittera ten, which has an impressive red noren curtain. This popular restaurant operates three branches in the heart of Osaka's downtown area, with the concept of "good, cheap, cheerful, and friendly."

The charm of this restaurant is that the chef makes the sushi for you over the counter. Even though the restaurant was full even late at night, BEN was excited to see the chef making the sushi at a steady pace as soon as the order was placed!

The sushi is served on sushi sandals. Prices start from 100 yen per piece, making it very reasonable.

"All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. It's great to come here after a fun day like today, but next time I'd like to come with friends for dinner," says a very pleased BEN.

To order, you write down the sushi you want on a piece of paper. Each sushi topping is assigned a number or letter, making it easy for foreigners to order.

By the way, although reservations are not possible, Sakae Sushi Mittera ten also has a Tamayacho store across the street, so if it's full you can check it out.

It's always crowded from opening until closing, but many people just eat a quick meal and go home, so even if there was a line, we were able to get in pretty quickly. The ingredients are fresh and delicious! They're open until 5am and the prices are reasonable, so it's no wonder they're such a popular restaurant!

There are plenty of other great restaurants in the Shinsaibashi area. Here are two great places to eat late at night!

Takotaco King Suomachi Main Branch

This popular takoyaki bar is bustling with locals and tourists alike until late at night. In addition to the large, individually-sized takoyaki balls, they also have a wide variety of teppanyaki dishes such as okonomiyaki and yakiudon. They also have a full alcohol menu, so it's recommended as a final stop or as a second stop.
