Located near Ogami Bridge, a bridge with red handrails on the Kashi River.Ogami's enshrined deity, Takaokami, has historically been recognized as a god capable of controlling the rain, and the agricultural people living along the Kashi River have always revered him as the source of the rain they rely on for their livelihood.The shrine's main building, erected in 1442, was built in an architectural style known as Kasuga-zukuri with a cypress bark roof. The style of the building, with Chinese cusped gables on the front eaves, is quite unusual.With a variety of Kaeru-mata curved wooden supports and Kibana carvings, visitors can still experience the colorful style of Muromachi period construction. The oldest example of Kasuga-zukuri architecture in Osaka, Ogami Shrine as been designated an important cultural property.
