After groundwater dissolved the limestone, creating hollow spaces, various limestone caves were formed over hundreds of thousands of years.
Senshin Pond
It is known that this beautiful water comes from snow that falls from the Sea of Japan and accumulates on Mt. Otakine (1,192m above sea level), and two years later the water flows out to the surface, seeping back into the limestone underground and flowing through the cave.
The water dripping from the cave ceiling is rain from 10 years ago that filtered through cracks in the limestone.
