straw

The delicate stalactites that hang down like icicles are called straws, and the Hida Great Cave is characterized by the beauty of these white stalactites.

Helictite

The twisted, hanging stalactites are called helictites and are academically very rare. Hida Great Cave is unique in that it is the most common site for helictites among Japan's tourist caves.

Cave cold storage

Taking advantage of the cave's environment, where temperature changes are minimal throughout the year, we store sake, shochu, and other alcoholic beverages. Sake stored for more than a year is called long-term low-temperature stored sake, and is a popular original product of Hida Great Limestone Cave that is purchased by many people.
