Kansai has a wide variety of fishing spots. Rock fishing and lure fishing are popular in Kada and Shirahama in Wakayama. You can target horse mackerel, hairtail, and red sea bream in the Sennan area of Osaka Bay and Awaji Island. The Akashi Strait in Hyogo has fast currents and is a good fishing ground for yellowtail and common octopus. Black bass fishing is popular in Lake Biwa.
