Sennan City, Osaka Prefecture
Falling in love with the sea and flowers
I'm in love
Sennan City, located in southern Osaka Prefecture, is located across the bay from Kansai International Airport, the gateway to the Kansai region, and is an airport city that is promoting urban development that makes use of its rich nature, history, and culture.
Sennan Rinku Park, which opened in 2020, is a comprehensive facility where you can enjoy activities and gourmet food, as well as marine sports such as windsurfing, SUP, and beach yoga.
The landscape lined with palm trees is like a tropical resort.
Access from Osaka
Sennan City has long flourished as a post town for pilgrims to Kumano, and during the Edo period it also served as a lodging place for the Kishu Tokugawa clan during their alternate attendance. The flowers that bloom at the historic sites within the city form the "Sennan Flower Corridor," offering a soothing atmosphere to visitors.
We look forward to welcoming you to soothing spots throughout the seasons, such as the Noda Wisteria at Shindachi-juku on the Kumano Kaido road, which blooms with approximately 40,000 flower clusters in spring, Chokei-ji Temple, famous for its hydrangeas that adorn the grounds in early summer, and the English Rose Garden, where you can enjoy its beauty and elegant fragrance in autumn.
Osaka may have an image of a big city, but surprisingly, Sennan City is home to a wealth of nature. Traditional ingredients that have been loved since ancient times will whet your appetite. There is still a lot of farmland remaining in the city, where fresh vegetables such as taro, water eggplant, onions, and cabbage are actively cultivated, and the Kinkuji Plum Grove has long produced Kinkuji Plums, which have thick flesh and small seeds. In addition, fishing has long been practiced in the coastal areas facing the fertile Chinu Sea, and in recent years, conger eel and wakame seaweed have been farmed.
