Mount Ikoma (elevation 642 m), located north of the Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park, has been etched into history as a mountain of strategic and transportation importance on the border between Yamato and Naniwa. Today, it is popular for its views stretching all the way to the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Kansai International Airport.In addition to the Osaka Prefectural Forest spreading across the mountain’s mid-slopes, visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Ikoma Mountain Amusement Park at the summit, the Hana Road connecting Osaka and Nara, and the Shigi-Ikoma Skyline—a 20.9-kilometer toll road stretching from the summit of Mount Ikoma to Mount Shigi.The night view, in particular, is like a jewel box. In spring, rows of cherry blossoms form a beautiful tunnel. Additionally, along the hiking trails, visitors can observe a variety of plants, birds, and insects.
