App Guidlines

(1) Please note that during the XR experience, due to some scanning error the characters might not be appearing. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

  • Please note that it may take 7 to 10 seconds to load a character.
  • While scanning an object, make sure your camera is steady for the smooth reading.
    Hold the smartphone with both hands to avoid being shaky as much as possible.
  • Make sure the object and the guides on the screen match each other. If the guides are not aligned with the object, it may not be possible to read the object correctly.
  • When scanning an object, if there is a person in front of you blooking, or if people are in the picture along with other objects besides what you are trying to scan, it might cause the scanning to fail.
    In such cases, exit (swipe) the contents and try again.
  • Also be noted that the camera may not start up properly at night, or in some weather conditions such as in rain, or on cloudy day.

  • The app may not start up properly when the phone signal is poor or when in a high building.

  • Also Wi-Fi might interfere the scanning process.
    Disconnect from Wi-Fi, exit (swipe) the content, and try again.
  • If you have a limited connection speed on your phone data package, the contents might not load properly and fully.
    In this case, please try using another phone with enough bandwidth remaining.

(2) Although the app has been fully tested its operational functions, please note that the XR function may not work well on smartphones bought outside Japan and some smartphones.

(3) Application downloaded before the release date of the July 3rd, does not support XR menu. Delete the app and download it again.

(4) If the XR site is too crowded, it might be challenging to take a desired photo. Thank you for understanding.

(5) Please note that at some XR Experience sites where your phone reception is weak, the character may not load properly. Thank you for understanding.

(6) The characters only appear at the time of your departure from the boarding area.
Please note that the character will not appear again once the photo has been already taken.
This applies at the following sites: Tombori River Cruise Special XR, HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel Special XR, Sailing Ship Santa Maria Special XR.

(7) Running the app may use a lot of battery.

(8) Using the application may need to use bigger data.

(9) Using the phone while walking is dangerous. Please take a moment to stop to use and enjoy.

(10) Be mindful to surroundings and avoid blocking traffic during using the application around the XR sites.

(11) Also be considerate and mindful for other's privacy when posting pictures on social medias.

(12) The application runs on using data from your carrier.

(13) The app requires a smartphone with GPS capability. Make sure GPS is turned on on your phone while using the app.

(14) Make sure your phone has iOS 12.0 and above or Android OS 10.0 and above for the app to run properly.
