Amidaji Temple

Known fondly by its nickname as "Ono no Amida-san," Amidaji Temple is also renowned for its prayers for safe birth.
According to historical records, Amidaji Temple was founded over 1,200 years ago as a guardian temple for childbirth by Empress Komyo, consort to Japan's 45th Emperor. Its founding and enshrinement of the Amida Nyorai Buddha was a gesture of gratitude for a safe birth brought about through the glory of the Amida Nyorai Buddha. Because of this account, it is famed as a temple for prayers for safe birth and is always lively with worshippers seeking to acquire maternity belts.
