Okoshi or candied millet puffs are a specialty of Osaka. It is said to have its origins in a confection presented to Sugawara no Michizane when he stopped by at Naniwa during the early Heian period (794-1185). Baisendo is a very long-established confectioner that started during the early Edo period (1603-1868). Their products, rich in natural flavor, are made using traditional ingredients and production methods. Prices for the plain "Awaokoshi" and "Iwaokoshi" with sesame and ginger are both ￥648 per batch of 10 large bars.
