Visiting Osaka Temmangu shrine also means walking the Tenjinbashi-Suji Shopping Street, the longest in Japan. The arcade developed to serve the shrine in the Edo Era and still retains the same downtown feel of olden times. At 2.6km long and with around 600 stores, it offers all of life's necessities, including fruits and vegetables, kimonos, cutlery, used books and hanko stamps. Enjoy strolling freely, shopping for famous snacks such as manju sweet cakes or potato croquettes, or savoring the humor of the Osaka traders. You'll also find niche shops selling exclusive Osaka wares such as Temma glassware or Mangetsupon crackers - great as gifts.
