Hattori Ryokuchi is a park used by many as a relaxation spot in the Kita-Osaka region. Located west of Senrikyuryo area, the park's area is 33 times that of the Koshien Stadium, and within its mildly sloping grounds are bamboo forests, pine forests, and more than ten ponds. There are also numerous cultural and sporting facilities. The Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses is a collection of representative farm houses from all over Japan that have been moved from their original location and rebuilt, including Gassho-zukuri (A-frame) houses from Shirakawa-mura, Ono-gun, Gifu Prefecture; Magari-ya (L-shaped houses) from the southern part of Iwate Prefecture; and Takakura (an elevated warehouse) of Amamioshima Island. The Arboretum grows approximately 120 species of herbs and 700 species of camellia, providing a relaxing atmosphere full of flowers and greens. Additionally provided are an athletics field, horseback riding center, tennis courts and Water Land, and in the open-air concert hall, events and concerts are held regularly.
