Open4/1 - 11/30
Day-camping 9:00 - 17:00 weekdays, 8:00 - 17:00 weekends and holidays (varies seasonally)
The campsite is conveniently located 1.5 hours by car from downtown Osaka, and just 30 minutes from downtown Kawachinagano. It enjoys verdant surroundings, with the Takihata Dam situated downstream. There is a car camping site, 24 bungalows, showers, flush toilets, rental tents, a tent site (for setting up your own tent), cooking facilities, a kiosk and a car park. Nearby there are fishing places for trout and amago salmon, and a restaurant. A 5-minute walk upriver will take you to Kotaki, a waterfall known as one of the "48 Waterfalls of Takihata." The approximately 9-meter drop is quite spectacular. A further 15 minutes' walk will take you to Arataki Waterfall, another 30 minutes to Gokodaki Waterfall, and another 40 minutes to Otaki Waterfall, constituting a hiking course that is not too physically demanding. Takihata Dam and the 48 Waterfalls of Takihata have been selected among the "100 Fine Greenery Spots (Midori no Hyakusen)?" of Osaka Prefecture.
