Osaka Pool, located a short walk from Osaka Metro Asashiobashi Station, was opened within the Yahataya Park in May 1996. The building looks like a huge spaceship. This swimming pool complex has a 50-meter, 10-lane main pool with a large state-of-the-art projection screen and about 3,500 spectator seats; a 25-meter, eight-lane indoor heated pool available throughout the year; and a diving pool. Osaka Pool, with these state-of-the-art facilities, attracts much attention as a venue for world-class swimming events. Natural sunlight streaming through the canvas ceiling creates a bright and clean atmosphere. The main pool is converted into an ice-skating rink from November to March every year.
