Toyono Town, while its residential areas are spreading, is still blessed with abundant nature. Drive about 30 minutes along Route 423 from Ikeda toward Kyoto/Kameoka in October, and a large plot of land colored in pink will suddenly appear. The flower field Cosmos-no-Sato was originated by flower fanciers over 10 years ago, and is now well-known across the country. On a site of approx. 1 ha, millions of cosmos flowers bloom, colored deep and pale pink as well as white. Visitors can savor the autumn beauty, while strolling in a "maze" of cosmos as tall as an adult. Benches are provided for people who want to take a break and relax. Some visitors enjoy taking photos with uniquely-designed scarecrows. In addition to freshly cut cosmos flowers, vegetables and fruits are also available in a shop by the entrance. At the end of the site is a space with pinewoods, where visitors can have a picnic lunch.
