Located at the southern tip of Habikino City, Minamoto-no-Yoritomo's ancestor Kawachi Genji is patron deity here.The shrine is said to have been founded in 1064 when the first Kawachi Genji's son Minamoto-no-Yoriyoshi headed to war, and a divine spirit was brought from Kyoto's Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine and enshrined at Tsuboi in order to pray for success in battle.Yoriyoshi's son's beloved armor, "Kurokawaodoshi Domaru" (designated an important cultural property) and sword "Tenkomaru-no-Tachi" can be found at the shrine. There's also a camphor tree said to be 1,000 years old. Additionally, Tsuboi Shrine, where Kawachi Genji's third generation descendant in enshrined, can be found on the west side of the premises. As the birthplace of the Kawachi Genji clan, there are a number of educational sites in the Tsuboi and Tsuhoji area.
