Osaka Castle Museum

Osaka Castle Museum is located in the center of the vast Osaka Castle Park. Although it is a reconstructed main tower, it is one of the few in Japan that is completely barrier-free. The route to the main tower is up a paved slope. However, you can also get to the main tower without going up the slope by using the road train or electric car.

Sakuramon Gate

There is a slope of about 7 degrees.

Ticket counter

After purchasing your ticket at the ticket counter on the ground floor, there will be stairs. If you have difficulty using stairs, please speak to a staff member at the ticket gate. They will guide you to a dedicated elevator.

Castle tower entrance

Reception: There are several slopes on the way to the building. Staff will accompany you if necessary.

There is a dedicated elevator that runs from the ticket counter on the ground floor to the castle tower entrance on the 1st floor. There are also dedicated elevators within the building from the 1st to 8th floors for people with mobility restrictions, and staff will be on hand to assist you on each floor.

Exhibition information

Exhibition space

On the first to seventh floors, there are exhibits related to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Osaka Castle. The exhibits are spacious enough that you can relax and enjoy the exhibits.

observation deck

The observation deck on the 8th floor has a step-free entrance and a 120cm wide passageway, allowing wheelchair users and children to enjoy the view from a clearer perspective.

Facilities for infants and young children

The women's restroom on the second floor of the castle tower also has a diaper changing table. There are also baby chairs in both the men's and women's restrooms.

Experiences and Attractions

Road Train

This road train runs from Morinomiya Station and Joe Terrace Osaka Information Center Station (near Osakajo Koen Station) to Osaka Castle Museum.
There are two types of trains, both of which are equipped with wheelchair elevators and ramps so that passengers in wheelchairs can board.
(There is a weight limit for electric wheelchairs, so please consult with us.)
*Service will be suspended on the first Thursday of each month and when there is a 70% or higher chance of rain. *Photo shows a train equipped with a wheelchair lift.

Electric Car

This electric car runs from Babacho near Tanimachi 4-Chome Station to Osaka Castle Museum. A slope is installed at the rear, allowing wheelchair users to board the car.

Barge

The golden Gozabune boat takes you around the moat of Osaka Castle. From the entrance to the pier to the boat, there is a 14-degree downward slope with five steps.
There are also three flights of stairs on board. These can be used by passengers with limited mobility who can navigate the stairs independently or with a caregiver. Announcements are also made in English.
