Umeda Sky Building - Floating Garden Observatory

Since being selected as one of the "Top 20 Buildings in the World" by the British newspaper "The Times" in 2008, this landmark has attracted attention from overseas as one of the world's most representative buildings. The observation deck, which offers a panoramic view of the city of Osaka at night, is particularly popular.

Elevators and routes

The aerial escalator is the most popular route to the observation deck, but if you are a wheelchair user or have difficulty using the escalator, we will provide you with an alternative route.

Public Route

From the 1st floor of FUN FUN PLAZA, take the elevator or escalator to the 3rd floor. From the 3rd to 35th floors, use the sky elevator. From the 35th to 39th floors, use the sky escalator.

Route for those who have difficulty using escalators

If you have difficulty using the escalator, please call an attendant using the dedicated telephone for the Kuchu Teien Observatory located on B2F (underground parking), 1F, or 3F of TOWER EAST. An attendant will guide you to the dedicated elevator (direct from 1F to 39F).

Exhibition information

Observation floor (rooftop)

From the rooftop observation deck, you can get a panoramic view of Osaka cityscape from a height of 173 meters above ground. The observation area is quite spacious.

Heart Rock "Rumi Deck" (rooftop)

The "Heart Lock" at the Floating Garden Observatory is a heart-shaped padlock that can be engraved with a date or name for free upon purchase. It can be attached to the "Lumi Deck" located down the stairs from the rooftop, or to the "Oath Fence" in the gallery shop on the 39th floor. You can also take it home as a good luck charm. *Purchases of the Heart Lock require prior reservation.

Original goods from Umeda Sky Building and the Floating Garden Observatory will be on display. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, or QR code.

Facilities for infants and young children

Both the men's and women's restrooms are equipped with baby chairs and diaper changing tables.

Nursing room

There is a nursing room in front of the women's restroom on the 40th floor. Men can also use it. There is one diaper changing table and one private nursing room.
It is also installed in the women's restroom on the 39th floor.

Rest area

There are tables and chairs available for use during breaks. Nearby is "cafe SKY 40," where you can enjoy original coffee made with only carefully selected beans, as well as original food and drinks. Payment at the café can be made by cash, credit card, or QR code.
