Tennoji Zoo, a local independent administrative institution

Tennoji Zoo opened on January 1, 1915, and is a zoo with a long history, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015. Currently, the zoo is home to approximately 1,000 animals of 180 species in its approximately 11 hectares of land, and the zoo's popular "ecological exhibits" showcasing the animals' lives in the areas that have been recreated as closely as possible to recreate their natural habitats, making it a popular oasis in the city center with many visitors.
The Tennoji Zoo Museum, where visitors can learn about animal ecology, opened in 2021, and the Friendship Garden, a facility where visitors can observe animals up close, opened in 2022. There are some areas within the zoo with steps, but ramps have been installed.

Pathway width: The facility has ample path width. Caution signs are posted in some areas where caution is required. If you are exiting through Ten-Shiba Gate, there is a long slope.

Most outdoor facilities have not only high fences but also glass-enclosed viewing spaces that allow viewing from a low position.

Nocturnal Animal House

The museum is dark, so please be careful where you step.

Facilities for infants and young children

Baby chairs and diaper changing tables are installed in the men's and women's restrooms in each area. Please check the park map for details.

Nursing room

There are three nursing rooms within the park.
The nursing room at Friendship Garden is available for men to use. There is one diaper changing table and one chair. There is also a sink and washbasin.
The nursing room at FooZoo Restaurant is for women only. There are two diaper changing tables and two private nursing rooms. There is also a sink and washbasin.
There is also one installed next to the New World Gate.

There are benches set up throughout the park. In 2021, a new facility called "FooZoo (restaurant)" was opened. You can enjoy everything from lunch plates to rice bowls and sweets.
