We offer free rental services for items such as canes, earphones for the elderly, rainwear for wheelchairs, and rainwear for assistance dogs, so please inquire with our staff.

Q. Are the pavilions wheelchair accessible?
A. All buildings and facilities within the venue are planned to be constructed in accordance with the Universal Design Guidelines issued by the association, so they will be wheelchair accessible.

Q. Can I get onto the wooden ring in a wheelchair?
A. We are planning to provide six elevators to take you up to the ring, so if you use the elevators, you will be able to get up to the ring in a wheelchair.

(Five escalators have been installed.)

 

Q. Are wheelchairs available for rental? Is there a space where students can rest if they become uneasy?

- Is it possible to leave the pavilion or program midway (if a student becomes uneasy)?

A. There is an accessibility center in the entrance plaza where you can borrow wheelchairs etc. There is also a calm down/cool down room within the venue.

 

Q. Are there any toilets inside the venue that assistance dogs can use?
A. There are no restrooms specifically for assistance dogs, but assistance dogs certified by designated organizations under the Act on Assistance Dogs for Persons with Physical Disabilities can use the same restrooms as visitors, so please use them as trained.
In addition, assistance dogs coming to Japan from overseas who have been trained by an accredited overseas training organization and are deemed to meet Japanese standards will be issued a "limited-time certificate" by a Japanese certification organization to ensure their safety during their stay in Japan, and with this certificate they will be treated as similar assistance dogs.

Q. Can I bring an electric senior car into the venue?
A. Yes, it is. Walking aids for the elderly and people with disabilities do not involve sliding, but please use them while ensuring the safety of visitors.

Q.Is there any accompanying support available for visually impaired people?
A.Currently, the association is not providing accompanying support.

Q. Is it possible to bring assistance dogs (guide dogs, service dogs, hearing dogs) into the venue and other facilities, including pavilions and toilets?
A. Guide dogs and other assistance dogs (guide dogs, service dogs, hearing dogs) are allowed in the venue, pavilions, toilets, and other facilities.

Q. Are there any universal service maps available at the venue?
A.We are considering providing barrier-free maps, sensory maps, tactile maps, etc. to provide information on barrier-free access, as well as information for people who are sensitive to light, smells, and sound, and for people with visual impairments.

 

Q. We have children who use wheelchairs, so we would like to know about the convenience of barrier-free access and multi-purpose toilets. Can wheelchairs access the large roof?
A. There are 40 toilets in the venue, all of which are wheelchair accessible. The large roof ring can be accessed by elevator.

 

Q. I have a child who needs catheterization. Where can I get catheterization done? What kind of support will the nurses provide?
A. Medical aid facilities may provide a place for accompanying caregivers to provide care.
Daily care such as catheterization should be performed by an accompanying caregiver.

Q. I have a disability. Are there any facilities that I cannot enter?
A. There are no facilities that restrict entry based on disabilities. Facilities will be constructed in accordance with the Universal Design Guidelines issued by the Association.

Q. I would like to know about priority and care for people with disabilities.
A.We have an Accessibility Center as a comprehensive service center for people who require various considerations, such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women.

Q. At the Aichi Expo, there was a gate for the disabled because the general gates would react to metal in the body. Will there be any barrier-free access at this Expo?
A. In principle, those who wish to gain priority entry to the Expo site can show their physical disability certificate, rehabilitation certificate, or mental disability certificate, and ask a member of staff before lining up at the gate, and enter through the "multi-purpose lane" (a tentative name for the equivalent of the priority lane). (As some people with disabilities do not wish to be treated as priority entrance, it is up to the person with a disability or their caregiver to choose between the multi-purpose lane or the general lane.)
Additionally, at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, Accessibility Centers will be set up in the east and west sides as comprehensive service bases for people who require special consideration. The Accessibility Centers are expected to provide services such as lending out wheelchairs and walking aids, and providing information on barrier-free access by distributing universal maps and other materials.

 

Q. Can restaurants and other eating establishments accommodate special dietary needs (such as paste or chopped food)?
A. Please contact each restaurant to inquire about special dietary needs, including availability.
The details will also be announced on the official Osaka-Kansai Expo app, "EXPO2025Visitors," among other platforms.

 

Q. When eating at a special needs school, food is sometimes cut into small pieces with scissors. Scissors are prohibited from being brought into the school, but is this allowed?
A.You can bring it on as an assistive device if you explain the purpose of its use during baggage inspection.

 

Q. I would like to know if I can purchase drinks from vending machines at the venue, and if I can use cash.
A. Drinks can be purchased from vending machines, etc. Payment is cashless within the venue.

 

Q. I heard that the Expo will be entirely cashless and that prepaid cards will be sold to student groups, but what will happen next? I can't imagine students touring the Expo independently, so I'd like to know more details.
A. Payments at facilities within the venue will be cashless (approximately 60 payment brands, including electronic payments via smartphone, transportation IC cards, and prepaid cards). Cash will not be accepted. Those who do not have a cashless payment method can load a prepaid card with cash and use it within the venue. Prepaid cards that can be used within the venue are four brands: 1) transportation electronic money (Kitaca, Suica, PASMO, TOICA, manaca, ICOCA, SUGOCA, nimoca, Hayakaken), 2) Rakuten Edy, 3) nanaco, and 4) WAON. Approximately 70 charging machines that allow you to load prepaid cards with cash will be installed in restaurants, retail stores, and other locations within the venue. Please note that the remaining balance on prepaid cards can be used at convenience stores and other locations around the city, and refunds will not be available at the venue.
Please prepare your prepaid cards in advance rather than purchasing them at the venue. If you would like to purchase a prepaid card, please contact your travel agency or one of the prepaid card brand companies listed below.

 

Q. I understand that vending machines will be cashless, but will there be enough facilities for people to stay hydrated? I can't allow junior high school students to have smartphones.
A.Water servers and personal bottle water dispensers will be installed at the venue.

 

Q. At the last briefing, you said that you were currently discussing how to deal with food allergies. Are these discussions still ongoing?
A. Regarding food allergy information, we recommend displaying it on menus, etc., but we will make it available to post at any time upon request of visitors.

 

Q. Regarding bringing large luggage (can I bring suitcases or large backpacks?)
A. You cannot bring wheeled carry-on cases or large luggage exceeding 60cm x 40cm x 90cm into the venue.

 

Q. Are there any calm down/cool down rooms? (A space where you can calm down if you feel anxious or panicked while visiting.)

A. These spaces are available in eight locations within the venue to help you calm down if you feel anxious or panicked during your visit.

Q: I would like to know who is eligible to use the Yumeshima parking lot for people with disabilities.
A Yumeshima Parking for the Disabled is available to those who qualify for special discount coupons and those who have difficulty moving around without the use of a wheelchair or walking aid due to illness or injury.

Q: I would like to know how to use the Yumeshima disabled parking lot and the fees.

Q: I am attending a special needs school, but as it is a small school, I plan to come by taxi.
It would be a big burden to travel, so would it be difficult to use the East Gate?

If you are coming by taxi, please use the taxi service provided at the No. 1 Transportation Terminal located near the West Gate.
Departure and arrival will be at the taxi stand (the distance from the taxi stand to the West Gate is approximately 180m).
To access the East Gate, please take the subway, the disabled parking lot (320m to the East Gate), or

Additionally, we expect to see a surge in school trips from outside the Kansai region in June, and a rush of visitors from the Obon holiday in August before the end of the exhibition period, so we recommend visiting in April, May, or July.
