International Disability Exchange Center (Big Eye)

The International Disability Exchange Center (Big Eye) was established in 2001 by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (then the Ministry of Health and Welfare) to commemorate the United Nations Decade of Disabled Persons (1983-1992) as a symbolic facility aimed at realizing "full participation and equality" for people with disabilities.
It has been developed as a place for international exchange activities and artistic and cultural activities conducted by people with disabilities, as well as a place for interaction that is open to the general public and not just people with disabilities, and through these activities, it promotes the independence and social participation of people with disabilities.

*1: 1. Disability fares are free for those who hold a physical disability certificate, mental disability health and welfare certificate, or rehabilitation certificate, or those with incurable illnesses (130 diseases specified by government ordinance) when driving or riding with the driver. 2. Up to three vehicles, including buses, are free for visitors on school trips or event organizers. 3. If you eat at the restaurant for 300 yen or more, you can enjoy free admission for up to two hours.

Wheelchair users: 1. From the platform at Izumigaoka Station on the Semboku Rapid Railway, go up to the concourse and exit the ticket gate.

5. Turn left at the end of the road
6. The first large building you see on the right is the Big Eye
