Bashodo: Warabimochi

Jelly-like and resilient, Bashodo's warabimochi (a sweet made from bracken starch) leaves a lasting impression on the taste buds.

Basic information

Warabimochi is one of the most popular Japanese sweets of the Kansai Region. However, Bashodo's warabimochi is like no other. Established in 1868, the confectioner employs traditional production methods handed down through generations, and uses carefully selected ingredients to make its warabimochi unique in its authenticity. Bashodo's directly managed stores in Osaka City offer "ishiusu taiken (stone milling experience)," where customers can grind top-quality black beans from the Tamba Region to sprinkle on their own warabimochi. The taste, scent, and texture of freshly ground black bean kinako (bean flour) on Bashodo's exquisite warabimochi is worth experiencing.Photo: "Honzukuri Warabimochi" (200g box) ¥680.
