Ibaraki Shrine

In 2022, the 400th anniversary of the founding of the main hall was celebrated, and as a commemorative project, the main hall was dismantled and repaired, and the offering hall and worship hall were newly rebuilt.
The summer festival, which has been passed down since the mid-Edo period, is called the "Shimoshita County Gion Festival" in Settsu Province, and every year a grand portable shrine procession is held.
This shrine enshrines Susanoo-no-Mikoto as its main deity, and the inner shrine is said to have been enshrined over 1,200 years ago. It has long been revered as the guardian deity of the villages of Ibaraki and Nakajo, and is famous for its ring-passing ritual in June and the summer festival portable shrine procession in July. Also, at the back of the shrine grounds, there are remains of a well called Kuroi no Shimizu, which once provided abundant water, and it is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi used this water during his tea ceremonies.
