Kirara Kujo Shopping Street

A famous shopping street that conveys the atmosphere of downtown. On days when the Orix Buffaloes play at the Dome, there are various special offers!

Kujo escaped wartime destruction and still retains its downtown charm. In recent years, it has become well-known for being home to Kyocera Dome Osaka (formerly Osaka Dome). Located west of Kujo Station on the Chuo Subway Line, the approximately 600-meter shopping street is lined with approximately 150 establishments, including restaurants, fresh produce, women's, men's, and children's fashion, and bookstores. The nickname "Kirara" was chosen through a public contest when the arcade was remodeled about 10 years ago. It was chosen because it evokes the image of space and mica, a material used by high-ranking figures in ancient China to make mirrors. When the Orix Buffaloes play at Kyocera Dome Osaka, the shops in the shopping street wear happi coats and uniforms to liven up the atmosphere and offer various services. The Kujo Festival is also a popular summer tradition in the area.
