Since its establishment in 1848, Oguraya has dealt exclusively in kombu, building its brand and tradition. The store is packed with kombu products that use top-quality kombu from Hokkaido, many of which were awarded Osaka Governor and/or Minister of Agriculture Awards. Highly recommended is the exquisite "Ougiokina," an oboro-kombu hand-shaved by Mr. Mita, an expert of hand-shaved oboro-kombu making and recipient of many awards.
