Oiseki Park
With its beautiful springtime sakura cherry trees, this nature park is popular with local residents and boasts the verdant stream-fed Roji Gully, picked for the Top 100 of Osaka’s Greenery.
Next door to Hineno’s Hine-jinja Shrine and rich in natural beauty, this spacious park is home to Roji Gully, which is formed by Kashiigawa River as it flows through Izumisano City east to west. Come spring, around 600 Yoshino Cherry sakura burst into bloom here, making it one of Izumisano’s best and most popular springtime cherry blossom viewing spots. Every year on the first Sunday of April, the Izumisano Tourism Association holds the Sakura Festival here, a major local event that always brings in a big crowd. Among the clear-flowing waters and fascinating rock formations in Roji Gully, you’ll understand why it was chosen as one of the Top 100 of Osaka’s Greenery. Be sure to not miss out on the stellar view form Taikobashi Bridge, as well! During the summer, many people escape the heat by strolling through the gully and savoring the cool. A walking trail was built on the levee nearby, making for another spot popular with locals. To visit the park, just catch the local bus from either Izumisano Station (Nankai) or JR Hineno Station and get off at ”Higashiue.”
