Tonbori River Walk

The Dotonbori waterfront promenade is impressive with its beautiful neon lights reflected on the water's surface. It is also the location of the Tenjin Festival and the Kabuki boat ride.
Dotonbori River, the face of Osaka, flows through the heart of Minami. A promenade is underway along the river as part of a project aimed at revitalizing Osaka as the "Water City." The Ebisubashi-Nipponbashi and Minatomachi sections (600 meters in total) have already been opened. More than 30 stores now have riverside entrances, such as the Don Quijote Dotonbori store, which boasts a large Ferris wheel. A dock has also been built, and sightseeing boat cruises along the Dotonbori River are gaining popularity. Around 20 events are held annually on the Tonbori River Walk. Since the "Water City Osaka 2009" event, Osaka's waterfront has been gaining attention, and the number of fun events and open-air cafes is expected to increase even more in the future. Check the Tonbori River Walk website for upcoming events, and come along to create memorable memories of your visit to Osaka, or enjoy events and meals along the Dotonbori River with family and friends.
