The Ezaki Glico Museum, “Ezaki Memorial Hall,” was built in 1972 (Showa 47) to commemorate Glico’s 50th anniversary.
In 1921 (Taisho 11), Riichi Ezaki created the nutritional confection “Glico” by using the highly nutritious glycogen found in the oyster cooking liquid discarded by fishermen in the Ariake Sea as an ingredient in caramel.Since then, the company has launched long-running bestsellers such as Bisco, Almond Glico, and Pretz. In addition to confectionery, the company operates in fields such as frozen desserts, dairy products, prepared foods, food ingredients, and new materials, and markets its products not only in Japan but also in countries around the world, including Asia and Europe.The company
is currently headquartered in Nishiyodogawa Ward, Osaka City. The Ezaki Memorial Hall, located on the premises, features exhibits on the history of the Glico Group, as well as numerous product packages, advertisements, Glico toys, and items associated with the founder, Toshikazu Ezaki.
