Japanese pop culture—including manga, anime, and video games—is now attracting significant global attention. Artists active in these fields are referred to as “e-shi,” a term drawing parallels to the ukiyo-e artists of the Edo period.This exhibition brings together original works by over 100 artists active at the forefront of pop culture. Through the exceptional technical skill and unique worldviews expressed in their works, the exhibition explores the new values and culture that Japan continues to share with the world.This exhibition has been held annually in Akihabara, Tokyo, since 2011, and touring exhibitions have also been held both domestically and internationally. Cumulative attendance surpassed 1 million at “100 Artists Exhibition 16” in May 2026.
