This shopping district stretches from Ebisu Bridge—famous for the “Glico Sign” and “Kani Doraku”—in the north to the Takashimaya Osaka Store in the south. Located right in the heart of Osaka’s Minami district, it features everything from iconic, long-established stores dating back to the Genroku era to shops leading the way in cutting-edge fashion.It’s a lively street packed with people both day and night—a place where simply walking down it is a pleasure. It is said that the origins of today’s shopping district date back to the Edo period, when restaurants such as udon shops and teahouses were opened along Ebisu-bashi-suji to serve pilgrims heading to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine.
