The Osaka Museum of History, located adjacent to the lush Osaka Castle Park and Naniwa Palace Ruins Park, opened in 2001.
As a museum chronicling nearly 1,400 years of “Osaka as a city,” it presents the city’s history from ancient times through the medieval and early modern periods to the modern and contemporary eras using
full-scale reconstructed buildings, miniature models, videos, and a wealth of actual artifacts,
offering a vivid insight into Osaka’s history and culture.The top floor, which offers a
beautiful view of Osaka Castle, is also a popular photo spot.
Guided tours are also available to explore the preserved ruins of Naniwa Palace located in the basement.
