Sakai is home to numerous historical and cultural resources that have been passed down through its long history, including the Mozu Tumulus Group—notably the Tomb of Emperor Nintoku—as well as historic shrines and temples, historic townscapes, sites associated with notable figures from the past, and traditional industries.
Sakai Rishō no Mori is a cultural tourism facility dedicated to showcasing Sakai’s distinctive history and culture through the themes of two figures closely associated with the city: Sen no Rikyū and Akiko Yosano.
