About Osaka

autumn

Autumn is a colorful time of year, when the tall noble gingko trees that line Midosuji Avenue, Osaka's main thoroughfare, turn bright yellow, and maple trees in Osaka Castle Park take on vivid shades of orange and red. This is when the famous Midosuji Parade takes place, a vibrant procession of floats and marching bands down the great boulevard. Osaka's seaside location provides spectacular views of the setting sun. Among them, a climb to the top of the WTC building in Cosmo Square, one of Western Japan's tallest buildings, offers a breathtaking view of the sun setting behind the Akashi Straits Bridge in the distance.

Autum is home to countless other events, as well. Other autumn events include moon viewing ceremonies for the Harvest Moon, and the Osaka spring and summer collection fashion show.
