Our museum, which proclaims itself Japan's only specialized museum for the Yayoi period, opened in the spring of 1991.
Since then, archaeological excavations throughout the country have significantly increased the amount of available data, and research has progressed from various perspectives. As a result, explanations of the former Yayoi culture, including the actual chronology, need to be significantly revised.
In light of the current situation, this exhibition will re-examine the content and significance of the Yayoi culture by adding newly discovered materials to the exhibits in the museum's first exhibition room, which is currently closed due to the temporary closure.
