Ezaki Glico's museum, "Ezaki Memorial Hall," was built in 1972 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Glico.
In 1921, Riichi Ezaki created the nutritious confectionery "Glico" by using caramel to extract the highly nutritious glycogen found in the oyster broth that fishermen in the Ariake Sea had been discarding. Since then, the company has released long-selling products such as Bisco, Almond Glico, and Pretz. In addition to confectionery, the company also operates in the fields of frozen desserts, dairy products, prepared foods, food ingredients, and new materials, and its products are distributed not only in Japan but also in Asia, Europe, and other countries around the world.
Currently headquartered in Nishiyodogawa Ward, Osaka City, the company's premises house the Ezaki Memorial Museum, which displays the history of the Glico Group, numerous product packages, advertisements, Glico toys, and items related to its founder, Riichi Ezaki.
