1. NIFREL, the Living Museum

A noteworthy landmark in the Hokusetsu area with the theme of "touching the senses"

Produced by Kaiyukan, this museum transcends the genres of aquarium, zoo, and art museum, allowing visitors to intuitively enjoy the charms of living creatures and nature. The exhibition theme is "diversity," and the eight exhibition areas feature exhibits that focus on the individuality of living creatures, such as their colors and behaviors.

The interior of the Tower of the Sun, designed by Taro Okamoto and a symbol of Expo'70 Commemorative Park, has been open to the public since 2018. The approximately 41m-tall "Tree of Life" depicts the evolutionary process of life, and is fitted with 183 biological models of 33 species. You'll also want to stop by the "EXPO'70 Pavilion," which tells the story of the 1970 Osaka Expo (separate admission fee required).

4. Asahi Beer Museum

An interactive museum where you can experience the best "cup"

This is Asahi Beer's experiential museum, based on the concept of "a place where you can encounter the best, most memorable drink." If you bring the Osaka Pre-DC Campaign guidebook and join the museum tour, you will receive special benefits in the cafe area.

Dam-themed curry with each store's unique character

Dam curry, a curry shaped like a dam, can be found all over Japan. One such example is a curry inspired by the Aigawa Dam in the northern part of Ibaraki City. Over 10 stores in Ibaraki City serve dam curry, which uses a variety of ingredients to represent the city's abundant nature, suspension bridges, and more.

Trace the vestiges of the good old Osaka that was known as Greater Osaka

    Osaka City

From the late Taisho period to the early Showa period, Osaka was known as "Great Osaka" because it had the largest area, population, and industrial production in Japan. Traces of that good old Osaka still remain everywhere today. The best examples of this are the famous architecture that is considered a cultural asset. There are places where you can not only tour the city, but also enjoy a meal at a restaurant. It is also fun to view the city from the river on a cruise.
