A famous castle that symbolizes Osaka
The current castle tower is the third in its series, following those from the Toyotomi and Tokugawa periods, and is a symbol of Osaka that was rebuilt in 1931 with donations from the citizens of Osaka.
With a history spanning over 90 years, it was designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property in 1997 and as a tangible cultural property designated by Osaka City in 2025.

The stone walls of the original Osaka Castle, built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, which lie beneath Osaka Castle, built by the Tokugawa Shogunate, are now open to the public.

This is a special opportunity to see the interiors of the important cultural properties Tamon Yagura, Senkan Yagura, and Inui Yagura, which are normally closed to the public.

It is well known that Toyotomi Hideyoshi welcomed Sen no Rikyu to enjoy the tea ceremony, and it is said that Osaka Castle and the tea ceremony have a deep connection. "Toyomatsuan" was donated to the city of Osaka by Panasonic founder Konosuke Matsushita in 1969, and was named after the characters "Toyo" (Toyo) and "Matsushita" (Matsushita). The spectacular view of Osaka Castle from the "Castle Room" is particularly impressive and well worth a visit.

As you walk through Osaka Castle Park and Nishinomaru Garden, you'll discover why Hideyoshi built a castle in this location, the grand vision behind it, and his true intentions, as seen in the trust he had with his younger brother, Hidenaga. By folding paper and using clip pens (simple pencils) and booklets in creative ways, you'll be amazed by the puzzle-solving experience that will have you saying, "Oh, that's how it is!" This is content that will delight not only mystery-solving fans, but also those who participate every year and enjoy fresh surprises.

Enjoy shopping and dining in a historic, stately building
Built in 1931 as the headquarters of the 4th Army Division, at the same time as Osaka Castle Museum, it is now a popular complex housing shops, cafes, restaurants, and museums.

Located next to Osaka Castle, the museum has a variety of areas where you can enjoy over 3,000 pieces of art created by Kaiyodo, a pioneer in Japanese figure production, over 40 years. There is also a souvenir shop and over 100 types of capsule toys on display, making it popular both in Japan and overseas.

Savor Meiji-era cuisine at an Important Cultural Property
A special course recreating Meiji-era cuisine will be served in the main dining room of the former Sakuranomiya Public Hall.

Senpukukan was built as a reception hall for the Japan Mint, which was founded in 1871. It is the oldest surviving Western-style building in Osaka, and was named "Senpukukan," meaning "House of Currency," when Emperor Meiji visited in 1872. The emperor also visited in 1877 and 1878, and the building has welcomed many important people from Japan and abroad, and was designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1956.
