Saikoji Temple

Built by En no Gyoja, this temple is said to be the first in Japan to feature Daisho Kankiten, an incarnation of Dainichi Nyorai. The temple is also home to Daikokuten, the god of fortune, and is visited by many people throughout the year.

In the 4th year of the reign of Emperor Saimei (658), En no Gyoja established the temple as a place for Buddhist training, and it is known for its Daisho Kankiten and insect memorial services.
