~Explore the town with a walking guide~ Japan Heritage "Takenouchi Kaido" and the public unveiling of the "Golden Bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva Half-Leg Statue" at Nonakaji Temple
Heading west along Takeuchi Kaido, Japan's oldest national highway and a Japan Heritage Site, you'll come across Shiratori no Mausoleum, one of the components of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group, a World Heritage Site. With a dedicated guide, you'll tour three other imperial tombs, as well as Nonaka-ji Temple, which displays the Gilt Bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva Half-Knee Statue on the 18th of each month.
Basic information
This tour takes place on the 18th of every month, the day when the Gilt Bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva Half-Knee Statue at Nonaka-ji Temple is open to the public, and involves walking along the Japan Heritage site Takeuchi Kaido and visiting three imperial tombs.

Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Temples Pilgrimage (only on April 17th and 18th, 2026)
KawachiMinamikawachi is one of the areas in Japan with the largest concentration of national treasures, and is home to three temples, Katsuragi-ji Temple, Domyo-ji Temple, and Kanshin-ji Temple, which enshrines the national treasure Kannon Bodhisattva as their principal image.
In 2026, in addition to the usual date of April 18th, the principal images of all three temples will be opened to the public on the day before, April 17th, and this will mark the creation of the "Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Pilgrimage."
By touring the three temples, you will be able to experience the rich history and culture of Minami Kawachi. -
