Woodworking craft experience
You can experience crafting in the woodworking room. Anyone, from children to adults, can easily try making something.
Basic information
■ Woodworking experience
(1) Hinoki chopstick set
We will create a chopstick set that allows you to feel the warmth of wood.
Chopsticks are used every day for meals. Let's make our own original chopstick set with this woodworking experience. First, use a plane to carve the wood. Once the thickness is even, carve the tips of the chopsticks to finish! You will get chopsticks with a soft wooden feel. You can also make a chopstick rest at the same time.
(2) Mini cedar ball (model)
We will make a miniature model of the cedar ball that decorates the brewery street at the Amano Sake brewery in Kawachinagano City. We have a hands-on kit available, so it's easy to make. We use "Osaka Kawachi wood," a brand of wood from Kawachinagano, Osaka Prefecture. The cedar ball is a model.

Shishikutsuji Temple: Special Exhibition of the National Treasure Wooden Seated Yakushi Nyorai Statue
KawachiIn conjunction with the Osaka Destination Campaign After Campaign to be held from April to June 2026, the National Treasure Seated Yakushi Nyorai statue will be open to the public for two days without prior reservations.

Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Temples Pilgrimage (only on April 17th and 18th, 2026)
KawachiMinamikawachi is one of the areas in Japan with the largest concentration of national treasures, and is home to three temples, Katsuragi-ji Temple, Domyo-ji Temple, and Kanshin-ji Temple, which enshrines the national treasure Kannon Bodhisattva as their principal image.
In 2026, in addition to the usual date of April 18th, the principal images of all three temples will be opened to the public on the day before, April 17th, and this will mark the creation of the "Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Pilgrimage."
By touring the three temples, you will be able to experience the rich history and culture of Minami Kawachi. -
