Sayamaike Festival
The biggest event in Sayama, Osaka
The city's largest event is held at Sayama Pond, the oldest man-made pond in Japan. A variety of events are held over two days, including a light ring display, music, and a market.
Basic information
This is the largest event in Osaka Sayama City, with the aim of protecting and passing on the history, culture, and environment of Sayama Pond, Japan's oldest man-made reservoir. Using the road surrounding the pond, including the fantastic illuminated ring of lights, music, singing, dancing, street performances, a flea market, a vegetable market, and various food stalls, the two-day event is a grand event.
Main contents
Ryujin Stage, music events, garage sales, food stalls and food trucks, Kouryu Square (for citizen interaction), light rings (LED lights installed along the bank), fireworks, etc.

Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Temples Pilgrimage (only on April 17th and 18th, 2026)
KawachiMinamikawachi is one of the areas in Japan with the largest concentration of national treasures, and is home to three temples, Katsuragi-ji Temple, Domyo-ji Temple, and Kanshin-ji Temple, which enshrines the national treasure Kannon Bodhisattva as their principal image.
In 2026, in addition to the usual date of April 18th, the principal images of all three temples will be opened to the public on the day before, April 17th, and this will mark the creation of the "Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Pilgrimage."
By touring the three temples, you will be able to experience the rich history and culture of Minami Kawachi. -
