Basic information
■The Three Buddhas in the Main Hall (Main deity: Seated statue of Dainichi Nyorai; attendant deities: Seated statues of Gosanze Myoo and Fudo Myoo)
The three national treasure statues enshrined in the main hall (the principal image, a seated statue of Dainichi Nyorai, and the attendant statues of Gosanze Myoo and Fudo Myoo) are all large, over two-meter-tall seated statues made using the joined-wood technique. During the major restoration of the main hall in the Heisei 29, an investigation revealed that they were created by Gyokai, a leading disciple of the Buddhist sculptor Kaikei. The main hall itself is an important cultural property built in the late Kamakura period, and its vibrant vermilion color was restored in 2017.
■Folding screen depicting the sun, moon, and four seasons and landscapes.
The "Sun, Moon, and Four Seasons Landscape" is a pair of six-panel folding screens painted in the mid-16th century. Its original composition and decorative style have earned it the designation of a National Treasure.
