Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine
Opening up the hope of recovery from illness
This ancient shrine has long been worshipped as the "God of Denbo" and is affectionately known as "Ishikiri-san." In 2025, four parts of the shrine, including the main hall, were registered as national tangible cultural properties (buildings).
Basic information
The enshrined deities are Nigihayahi-no-Mikoto and Kamimatsu-no-Mikoto, the ancestors of the ancient powerful Mononobe clan. Since ancient times, the shrine has been loved and worshipped as "Ishikiri-san" and "Denbo-no-Kami."
