Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan
Experience the charm of Danjiri no matter the season
You can experience the charm of danjiri through a real danjiri exhibit, an immersive theater, experiences with instruments such as drums, and even a carpentry experience.
Basic information
Boasting a history and tradition spanning roughly 300 years, the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival attracts large numbers of spectators from both Japan and abroad every year. The danjiri floats (jiri floats) that are pulled are made entirely of Japanese zelkova, and the intricate carvings on the danjiri are a highlight. This is a themed museum where you can experience the danjiri festival all year round. You can experience the powerful images on a large multi-vision screen, as well as the power of a real danjiri that was actually pulled. There are also exhibits on the history of the danjiri festival, as well as related materials such as costumes, and in the experience corner, you can try your hand at carpentry and making sounds (drums and bells).
