Kishiwada Castle
The refreshing view from the castle tower is a must-see!
This castle was renovated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's uncle, Koide Hidemasa. From the castle tower you can get a panoramic view of Kishiwada city.
Basic information
During the Edo period, the Okabe clan became the castle's lord. The original castle tower was burned down by lightning, and the current one was rebuilt in 1954 (Showa 29). 2024 will mark the 70th anniversary of the castle's reconstruction. The garden, Hachijin Garden, has been designated a national scenic spot. The view from the third floor of the castle tower is a must-see. It has also been recognized as one of Japan's 100 Great Castles. The cherry blossoms are at their best from March to early April.
