Clear your mind and feel refreshed with a sutra copying experience that connects you to the teachings of Zen
Nozaki Kannon Jigenji is a Soto Zen temple located in Daito City, Osaka Prefecture. After receiving a lecture on how to write and how to prepare yourself, you will spend time copying sutras, completing each point and line, and even if you make a mistake, resetting and moving forward. Finally, you will write down what you want to let go of on a piece of paper and offer it as an offering, and receive a scattered flower-shaped goshuin stamp.

[Calligraphy experience]
The sutra is copied onto special copying paper (a sample with tissue paper placed on top).
Please use a brush pen or a felt-tip pen, whichever is easier for you.
Please choose either the Heart Sutra (approximately 260 characters) or the Ten Verses of the Kannon Sutra (approximately 50 characters).
It's okay if you pay partway through.
*Tools will be provided, so please come empty-handed.
[Dedication of prayer slips and awarding of Zen seals]
After the sutra copying is completed, you will be asked to write your wishes and worries on a prayer tablet and then seal it.
Along with copying the sutra, please offer it with your own hands in front of the treasure statue of the principal image of the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva in the main hall.
As proof of your donation, you will receive a scattered flower-shaped red seal with Zen phrases written on it.

Shishikutsuji Temple: Special Exhibition of the National Treasure Wooden Seated Yakushi Nyorai Statue

Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Temples Pilgrimage (only on April 17th and 18th, 2026)
KawachiMinamikawachi is one of the areas in Japan with the largest concentration of national treasures, and is home to three temples, Katsuragi-ji Temple, Domyo-ji Temple, and Kanshin-ji Temple, which enshrines the national treasure Kannon Bodhisattva as their principal image.
In 2026, in addition to the usual date of April 18th, the principal images of all three temples will be opened to the public on the day before, April 17th, and this will mark the creation of the "Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Pilgrimage."
By touring the three temples, you will be able to experience the rich history and culture of Minami Kawachi. -
