Honoring Prince Shotoku's spirit of harmony, and wishing happiness for all who visit Taishi Town, the lights hope to contribute to the creation of an attractive town and its revitalization. This is the hope of the local people who love Taishi Town, and it was with this desire that the Taishi Shotoe Festival began. Approximately 10,000 lantern cups are carefully arranged one by one every year with the cooperation of many resident volunteers. In addition, the lantern cups lined up at Eifuku-ji Temple are inscribed with messages from sponsors, illuminating the spring nights with gentle light. At Taishi Nagomi Square, there will be stages for Japanese drumming and acoustic live performances, and Taishi Shotoku City is cooperating in organizing the event.
