Nishikiori Shrine

It is located about 500m north of Kawanishi Station on the Kintetsu Nagano Line.
Nishikori Shrine is located approximately 500 meters north of Kawanishi Station on the Kintetsu Nagano Line. This area was formerly Nishikori County, and formerly known as Nishikori County. Because it was an important waterway route from Naniwa to the capital of Yamato, continental culture was introduced here, and it is said to be the site of a settlement named Baekje-go, which is mentioned in the Wamyōshō (a dictionary compiled during the Heian period). One version states that the name "Nishikori" ("Ino-kori") later became Nishikibe County, while another version states that the name "Nishikori" arose from the fact that people with weaving skills who arrived from Baekje settled here and presented brocade and other textiles to the Imperial Court. The main hall was built in 1363. It is a magnificent three-bay irimoya-style building with a cypress bark roof and lacquered, vermilion, and painted finishes. Along with the auxiliary shrines on either side, it is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
