Toothpick Reference Room

This fascinating exhibit will give you surprising and insightful information, such as the origins of toothpicks and the deep connection that once existed between toothbrushes and toothpicks.

Surprisingly, Japan is the only country in the world where people use round toothpicks for cleaning their teeth. Yes, toothpicks aren't just used in Japan, and there are many different types. Apparently, round toothpicks are primarily used overseas for stabbing fruit and food. Flat or triangular toothpicks are used for dental care. What's the reason for this, and why aren't they used in Japan? This exhibit features toothpicks from Japan and other countries, and you'll learn how to use them. By incorporating toothpick choices from Scandinavian countries, a leading country in dental care, you too will become a toothpick expert. You'll also learn surprising and compelling information about toothpick manufacturing methods across the ages, the origins of toothpicks, and the deep connection between toothbrushes and toothpicks. Languages available: English; interpreters are required for other languages.
