Izuo Shopping Street
Izuo Shopping Street is an approximately 400-meter-long shopping arcade located in Taisho Ward, Osaka, more than one kilometer away from JR Taisho Station on the Osaka Loop Line. The street consists of three arcades—First Street, Second Street, and Third Street—and is lined with shops selling daily necessities, prepared foods, yakiniku offal restaurants, and standing bars. Taisho Ward was originally called "Shinko Ward," but after a public naming process, it was renamed after Taisho Bridge. Historically, the area was part of the Naniwa Yasoshima delta and developed through fishing settlements and land reclamation during the Edo period. In the Meiji era, industrialization progressed, leading Osaka to be known as the "Manchester of the East".
